Iron Proteinate is a source of iron that is called a chelate. Chelate forms are absorbed differently than other iron forms. Iron is an essential nutrient necessary for hemoglobin in red blood cells, which carries oxygen to all tissues of the body and is necessary for the function of many enzymes in the body.
